Caltrans announced Saturday the reopening of a 10-mile stretch of Highway 1 in Monterey County following support of the Timber Fire emergency response. Authorities said the stretch was opened as of 1 p.m. Caltrans warns drivers to be cautious or use Highway 101 as an alternative route. According to Cal Fire, the Timber Fire in Monterey County burned 7,591 acres and was 29% contained as of Saturday
